2022 Volkswagen Golf Style TSI E-Hybrid S-A 1.4L Hybrid electric (clean) · GL72 HBA

The latest MOT test conducted on 20 November 2025 resulted in a pass with no recorded defects or advisories. As this represents the initial testing phase for a 2022 vehicle, the maintenance trend appears stable. The absence of any noted failures or warnings suggests that the vehicle has been maintained to a standard that meets the minimum legal safety requirements, providing a clean baseline for a prospective buyer. The vehicle has covered 55,305 miles over approximately four years, averaging roughly 13,826 miles per annum. This usage rate is considerably higher than the UK average for this model, indicating a high-intensity duty cycle likely consisting of frequent commuting or long-distance travel. Such rapid mileage accumulation accelerates the wear and tear on primary consumables and drivetrain components, meaning the vehicle is entering a phase where major service items and wear-related components will require closer scrutiny than a lower-mileage equivalent. Since the MOT history is clean, the buyer should focus on physical wear consistent with high mileage. A thorough inspection of the tyre treads and sidewalls is necessary to identify uneven wear patterns that could indicate wheel misalignment or worn suspension bushes. Given the hybrid powertrain, it is essential to verify the service history for oil change intervals, as high-mileage petrol engines in hybrid configurations can be prone to oil dilution if service intervals are extended. The brake discs should be checked for significant lip wear or scoring, and the buyer should ensure the calipers are not binding, as the regenerative braking system can sometimes lead to mechanical corrosion if the friction brakes are not used frequently. Further attention should be paid to the chassis and suspension during a test drive. Listen for clunks or knocks over uneven surfaces, which would suggest that the coil springs or dampers are beginning to fatigue. The 12V auxiliary battery should be tested for health, as these can degrade independently of the high-voltage hybrid battery's state. Finally, verify that all calendar-based maintenance, such as brake fluid flushes and cabin filter replacements, has been performed according to the manufacturer's schedule, as the high mileage increases the operational demand on these systems.
