The vehicle is currently roadworthy, though the maintenance trend shows a pattern of reactive electrical and minor structural issues. The most recent test in March 2024 at 9,292 miles passed despite a deteriorated registration plate and a noted slight fluctuation in rear brake effort. While the bike has passed its last two tests, the history of failures regarding lighting and corrosion suggests that the owner only addresses faults when prompted by the MOT tester rather than performing proactive preventative maintenance. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a ten-year-old motorcycle, averaging approximately 930 miles per year. There is a gap of 1,026 miles between March 2022 and February 2023, and another 1,430 miles before the most recent test. This low usage indicates the vehicle likely sits stationary for long periods. Such usage patterns often lead to the degradation of rubber components, seized seals, and internal corrosion, which explains the lack of significant mechanical wear on the drivetrain. A buyer must conduct a close physical inspection of the offside structure and footrest hanger. The February 2023 test flagged corrosion that did not yet compromise structural rigidity, but rust on thin-gauge metal tends to spread rapidly if left untreated. The buyer should also verify the rear braking system, as the fluctuation in effort noted in 2024 could indicate a sticking caliper piston or a contaminated master cylinder due to low use. Given the previous electrical failures involving the headlamp and rear position lamp, a thorough check of the wiring loom and bulb sockets is necessary to ensure the connections are not brittle or corroded from age.
