2006 Renault Clio Extreme 1.1L Petrol · IHZ 3452

A history of clean MOT results following a single failure in 2018 defines the recent roadworthiness profile of this Renault Clio. The vehicle has maintained a clear record for the last seven years, with the most recent test on 09 September 2019 resulting in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. While the 2018 failure indicates a specific component required attention, the subsequent two years of testing show no recurring issues with emissions, lighting, or structural integrity, suggesting a period of stable mechanical compliance. The vehicle has covered 142,379 miles over its approximately twenty-year lifespan, which equates to an average annual accumulation of roughly 7,119 miles. This usage pattern is consistent with typical long-term mileage for a vehicle of this age. From a mechanical standpoint, this level of steady, moderate use suggests that while components such as suspension bushes, coil springs, and braking systems will have experienced standard wear, the vehicle has not been subjected to the extreme high-mileage stress associated with heavy commercial or long-distance motorway use. Because the most recent MOT records from 2019 onwards show no recorded advisories or defects, there are no specific documented weaknesses regarding corrosion, fluid leaks, or worn suspension linkages to highlight. However, given the age of the vehicle and the time elapsed since the last recorded test, a physical inspection is necessary to identify any deterioration that has occurred since 2019. A prospective buyer should pay close attention to the condition of the subframe and brake pipes for signs of surface corrosion, as well as checking for any oil misting around the engine or gearbox seals. During a test drive, focus on detecting any mechanical irregularities that the MOT records do not capture. Listen for any knocking or clunking sounds from the front or rear suspension when driving over uneven surfaces, which could indicate worn bushes or dampers. Test the braking system for any pedal judder or pulling to one side under deceleration, which would suggest warped discs or binding calipers. Additionally, ensure the steering feels precise and does not pull to either side, as this would indicate potential issues with wheel alignment or steering rack components.
