2006 Citroen C2 1.6L Petrol · JD06 MWD

The vehicle is currently roadworthy, having achieved a clean pass on 14 January 2026 at 77,959 miles. This result followed an unexpected failure just six days prior at 77,956 miles, which suggests a minor defect was rectified immediately to secure the pass. The overall maintenance trend appears stable, as the car has maintained a clean record without recorded advisories across the 2024 and 2023 tests. The mileage profile is notably low for a twenty-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 3,900 miles per year. Data shows a period of low use between September 2023 and November 2024, where the car covered only 1,645 miles in fourteen months. The more recent interval of 4,108 miles covered over seventeen months indicates a slight increase in usage leading to the latest test. While low mileage generally preserves engine components, the age-related degradation of rubber components and seals remains a factor for vehicles that have sat stationary for extended periods. A buyer should conduct a thorough physical inspection of the structural integrity, as low-mileage Citroen C2 models are prone to corrosion in the sills and wheel arches. Despite the clean MOT history, the inspector must check suspension bushes and mounts for cracking, which often perish due to age rather than distance. The recent rapid failure in January 2026, despite having no recorded defects, warrants a check of minor items such as light bulbs or fluid leaks that might have triggered the initial failure before the re-test.
