2004 Vauxhall Zafira 2.0L Diesel · LD54 FUJ

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile based on a consistent history of clean passes over several years. The most recent test conducted on 30 August 2023 at 126,960 miles returned no defects or advisories. This suggests that the previous owners have maintained the vehicle to a standard that meets minimum DVSA safety and emissions requirements without recurring mechanical or structural failures that typically plague vehicles of this age and model. The mileage pattern is notably low for a 22-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 5,771 miles per year. The data shows a steady progression of use, moving from 98,789 miles in October 2018 to 126,960 miles in August 2023. The gap between the 2022 and 2023 tests shows only 9,895 miles driven, indicating a pattern of light annual use. While low mileage generally reduces wear on the drivetrain and engine components, it can sometimes lead to degradation of rubber seals and brake components due to extended inactivity. Despite the clean MOT record, a physical inspection must focus on components susceptible to age-related decay rather than just mileage-based wear. The buyer should examine the chassis for structural corrosion, particularly along the rear sills and subframe mounting points where Zafiras are prone to rust over time. The condition of suspension bushes and coil springs should also be verified, as these can perish or perish regardless of the distance driven. Additionally, checking the brakes for surface pitting or seized calipers is essential to ensure the low usage hasn't resulted in internal corrosion of the braking system.
