2003 Volkswagen Golf 1.6L Petrol · NL03 GGV

The most recent MOT on 29 June 2023 at 100 403 miles recorded a failure, meaning the vehicle is not currently roadworthy. The jump from a pass on 8 July 2022 at 95 996 miles to that failure within roughly eleven months indicates a worsening trend, despite the low annual mileage. Between the two tests the car added about 4 400 miles, aligning with the overall average of roughly 4 365 miles per year. The gap between the tests is just under twelve months, so mileage accumulation appears steady. The history is sparse, with only these two entries covering a period of just over a year. A buyer should inspect the likely failure cause, which was not detailed in the record, by checking the exhaust for leaks or excessive emissions, examining the brake discs and pads for uneven wear, and assessing suspension bushes and coil springs for corrosion. The chassis and sill plates should be examined for rust, given the vehicle’s age, and any service records should be reviewed to confirm whether routine maintenance was performed.
