2019 Land Rover Range Rover 4.4L Diesel · OV69 UOY

A notably clean DVSA roadworthiness record defines this 2019 Range Rover, with five consecutive annual tests from 2022 through 2026 all passing without a single advisory or failure entry. That represents an unusually pristine MOT history for a vehicle of this age and segment, where structural corrosion, brake component wear, and suspension bushing deterioration are commonly flagged even on well-maintained examples. The most recent test on 9 March 2026 again recorded no defects, and the absence of any advisory progression across the five-year testing window indicates that nothing has deteriorated to the threshold of tester concern. While a clean MOT record is never a substitute for physical inspection, it does establish a baseline of legislative compliance and suggests that no component has worn to the point of failure or near-failure within the DVSA inspection criteria. The recorded mileage of 32,027 against a seven-year age equates to an annual accumulation of roughly 4,575 miles, which is substantially below the national average for a luxury SUV of this profile. Such low usage carries specific mechanical implications beyond simply reduced wear on consumables. Extended periods of stationary operation promote moisture retention in the brake caliper bores, leading to piston corrosion and eventual caliper binding, while the undercarriage and exposed steel components can accumulate surface oxidation due to infrequent washing of road salts. The brake discs themselves are susceptible to corrosion pitting on the rubbing surface, which can produce judder under braking even if the underlying friction material remains within wear limits. Equally, low mileage allows diesel or petrol to sit for prolonged intervals, raising the possibility of fuel system deposits, DPF regeneration cycles being incomplete (on diesel variants), and stale oil losing its additive protection before drain intervals are reached. For a prospective buyer, a thorough pre-purchase inspection should focus on the components most likely to suffer from this usage profile rather than chasing theoretical defects. During a test drive, listen carefully for any clonks or knocks from the front suspension over uneven surfaces, particularly indicative of worn lower wishbone bushes, anti-roll bar drop links, or the air suspension compressor and reservoir system typical of this model. Apply the brakes firmly from around 30 mph to check for pedal pulsation suggesting disc warping or surface corrosion, and pull away at low speed while turning lock-to-lock to feel for any binding, dragging sensation, or uneven pulling that would indicate a seized caliper slider. On cold start, observe the exhaust for excessive smoke, particularly blue-tinged vapour suggesting oil burn past valve stem seals that can deteriorate from infrequent use, and listen for any auxiliary belt chirps or timing chain rattle from the first few seconds of ignition. Equally important is a physical examination underneath the vehicle on a ramp, as corrosion on the rear subframe mounting points, brake pipe unions along the underbody, and the front subframe itself are common failure points flagged across the Range Rover and Land Rover product line as they accumulate years of road exposure. Inspect the tyres not only for tread depth but for uneven shoulder wear pointing to suspension geometry issues, and check the sidewall production date stamps for ageing cracking given that low-mileage vehicles often retain original tyres well beyond their safe service life of around six years. A Land Rover specialist diagnostic scan should be commissioned to interrogate the air suspension ride height sensors, Terrain Response system, and transfer box for stored fault codes, as the MOT test does not interrogate electronic systems beyond emissions and ABS warning lamp checks. Finally, verify the service history documentation directly, as MOT compliance alone confirms nothing about oil change frequency, transfer box and differential fluid replacement, or brake fluid renewal, all of which are critical to the long-term durability of this vehicle regardless of its unblemished test record.
