2020 BMW Z4 2.0L Petrol · RE70 PVN

The 2020 BMW Z4 presents a stable and improving maintenance trend, culminating in a clean pass on 11 September 2025 at 45,753 miles with zero defects recorded. That result marks a clear step up from the two preceding tests, both of which carried tyre-related advisories. The most recent certificate confirms the vehicle met all roadworthiness standards at the time of testing, with no corrosion, emissions, braking, or structural concerns flagged by the examiner. The mileage progression tells a consistent story. Between the September 2023 test at 23,854 miles and the September 2024 test at 35,617 miles, the car covered 11,763 miles in twelve months. The following year saw a further 10,136 miles added, reaching 45,753 miles by September 2025. That equates to roughly 7,600 miles per year across the vehicle's life, which is typical for a six-year-old car and suggests regular, steady use rather than prolonged standing or unusually light driving. No anomalous gaps or sudden spikes appear in the record. The recurring theme across the 2023 and 2024 tests is uneven tyre wear, specifically inner-edge wear on both rear tyres in 2023 and edge wear on both fronts in 2024. Inner-edge wear on a rear-drive sports roadster like the Z4 often points to suspension geometry drift, most commonly from worn rear toe or camber adjusters, or deteriorated suspension bushes allowing dynamic alignment shift under load. The fact that the 2025 test passed clean suggests the issue may have been addressed, but a buyer should still inspect the inner sidewalls of all four tyres in person and check for any uneven tread patterns that could indicate the underlying cause was masked by replacement rather than corrected. A four-wheel alignment check would be prudent. Beyond tyres, the clean 2025 result gives confidence on brakes, exhaust emissions, and structural integrity at that mileage. Still, a pre-purchase inspection should focus on the condition of brake discs and pads given the car's sporting character, the state of front and rear suspension bushes and drop links, and any signs of corrosion on the subframes or inner wheel arches. The absence of advisories in the most recent test is encouraging, but the earlier tyre wear pattern warrants a closer look underneath before committing.
