2017 Ford Kuga 1.5L Petrol · S77 VAL

An unblemished five-test record defines this 2017 Ford Kuga: every MOT from March 2022 through to the latest pass on 9 March 2026 has been completed with no defects and no advisories recorded whatsoever. That is a notably clean history, as even well-kept vehicles typically accumulate minor advisories for tyre wear, brake disc lip corrosion, or suspension bush deterioration over a five-year span. The absence of any flagged items means the DVSA record offers no evidence of emerging corrosion, brake imbalance, emissions problems, or suspension wear, and the trend is stable rather than improving or worsening, since there has simply been nothing to correct between tests. The recorded mileage of 66,250 miles equates to roughly 7,360 miles per year, which is typical for a vehicle of this age and suggests regular, moderate use rather than prolonged standing or heavy commercial-style accumulation. The annual test dates are consistently spaced each March, with no gaps in the testing record, indicating continuous road use and registration. This pattern of steady mileage is generally favourable for a diesel or petrol Kuga of this era, as regular use keeps braking components free of surface corrosion and drivetrain seals exercised, while the moderate annual distance limits wear on consumables such as clutch components, dual-mass flywheel, and suspension bushes. Because the MOT history flags no specific components, buyer checks should focus on the known wear points for this model and age rather than any documented defect. On a test drive, listen for knocks or clonks from the front suspension over uneven surfaces, which would indicate worn drop links or lower arm bushes not yet severe enough to attract an advisory. Check the brake pedal for judder under firm braking from motorway speeds, feel for any steering pull under braking that could suggest a binding caliper, and confirm the gearbox engages cleanly, particularly if the vehicle is an automatic, where Powershift units on some Ford models of this period warrant careful scrutiny for shuddering at low speed. It should be stressed that a clean MOT record demonstrates roadworthiness at each test point but cannot establish how the vehicle has been maintained between tests, and no service history can be inferred from these results alone. A prospective buyer should therefore verify documented servicing, particularly oil changes and, if applicable, timing belt or wet belt replacement, which is a known consideration on Ford EcoBoost engines of this era. An independent pre-purchase inspection remains worthwhile to examine areas the MOT does not cover, such as engine oil misting, coolant condition, and underside corrosion protection, before committing to purchase.
