2022 MINI Cooper 1.5L Petrol · ST22 LRX

Consistent mechanical reliability defines this vehicle, which maintains a clean bill of health evidenced by its most recent MOT test on 23 April 2025. With no defects or advisories recorded throughout its history, the car demonstrates a stable state of roadworthiness. The lack of any flagged issues regarding structural integrity, suspension components, or braking systems suggests that the vehicle has been subjected to standard operating conditions without evidence of premature wear or neglect during its initial years on the road. Accumulating only 6,484 miles over a four-year period results in an average annual usage of approximately 1,621 miles, a figure significantly lower than the national average. This light usage profile means that the primary mechanical components, such as the drivetrain and transmission, have experienced minimal stress. However, prospective buyers should be aware that vehicles with such low mileage can occasionally develop issues related to infrequent operation, such as surface oxidation on brake discs or seals that have not been regularly exercised through consistent heat cycles. During the test drive, pay close attention to the braking performance, as the low mileage may have resulted in light surface corrosion on the discs from periods of inactivity. Listen for any grinding noises or vibrations through the pedal during firm braking, which would indicate that the friction surfaces have not bedded in correctly or have developed uneven wear. Ensure the handbrake holds firmly on an incline, as the mechanism may be stiff from underuse, and verify that the pedal feel is firm and progressive rather than spongy. The suspension and steering systems should also be evaluated for any signs of premature aging despite the low odometer reading. Drive over uneven road surfaces at varying speeds to listen for any knocking or clunking sounds originating from the front or rear suspension linkages, which could indicate that rubber bushes have hardened or perished due to age rather than high-mileage fatigue. Additionally, check for smooth steering response without any notchiness or resistance, ensuring the vehicle tracks straight on a level road surface without pulling to either side.
