2006 Isuzu Rodeo 3.0L Diesel · VK06 VGF

The vehicle remains roadworthy but the maintenance history indicates a worsening trend regarding structural and fluid-related corrosion. While the most recent test in June 2024 at 130,571 miles passed, the tester flagged corrosion on the nearside rear integral body structure and the brake pipes. These issues mirror defects found during the February 2023 test at 127,755 miles, suggesting that the underlying oxidation is progressing rather than being remediated. The mileage pattern is consistent with a twenty-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 6,500 miles per year. The record shows steady usage with intervals of roughly 7,000 to 8,000 miles between annual tests from 2020 to 2024. This regularity suggests the vehicle is not prone to long periods of stagnation, which often helps keep seals and components supple, though the low annual mileage does not protect the aging 2006-eraera metalwork and rubber components from age-related degradation. A prospective buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection of the chassis, specifically focusing on the nearside outer sill and integral rear body structure. The recurring mention of corrosion that does not yet reduce structural rigidity is a warning sign of deep-seated rust. Close attention should also be paid to the brake lines; the record notes they are both corroded and covered in grease, which is often a tactic used to hide surface decay from visual inspectors. Furthermore, the nearside front drive shaft boot, which was severely deteriorated in 2023, should be checked for fresh tears or grease leakage to prevent imminent joint failure.
