2022 Vauxhall Combo-E Life SE Electric · WK22 OVV

A clean and consistent DVSA test record defines the mechanical standing of this 2022 Vauxhall Combo-e Life SE, with both the 2025-03-14 and 2026-03-12 examinations passing without a single advisory or defect entry recorded. Across two consecutive MOT events, no component has been flagged for wear, corrosion, fluid leakage, brake inefficiency, suspension degradation, lighting failure, or tyre condition shortfall. The absence of any advisories over a four-year service life is notable, particularly as vehicles in this age bracket commonly begin to surface minor wear items such as early corrosion on underbody components, brake disc lipping, or tyre shoulder wear. While a defect-free record does not constitute a guarantee of present condition, it does indicate that the car has not, as of its most recent assessment in March 2026, exhibited any component-level deterioration severe enough to warrant tester comment. The recorded mileage of 18,142 miles against a four-year vehicle age equates to an average annual accumulation of roughly 4,536 miles, which is substantially below the typical mileage profile for a vehicle of this type and likely usage as a family or light commercial people carrier. Such a low running figure suggests the vehicle has either been used predominantly for short local journeys or has experienced extended periods of inactivity between uses, both of which carry distinct mechanical considerations. Consistent short-trip operation places additional demand on the high-voltage traction battery due to frequent partial charge cycles, while prolonged standing periods can encourage brake disc surface corrosion, tyre flat-spotting, and drying or hardening of rubber suspension bushes. The fact that no such issues have surfaced at either MOT suggests these conditions have not yet manifested as testable defects, but they remain worth probing during any physical inspection. For a prospective buyer, the priority during a physical evaluation should be a thorough underbody and brake assessment, since the clean MOT history provides no specific component history to interrogate. Brake discs and pads should be physically measured for wear and any ridge formation on the disc edges, as low mileage combined with infrequent use can lead to uneven pad transfer and surface corrosion that may not yet have been flagged as an advisory. The suspension should be examined for any play in the lower control arms, anti-roll bar linkages, and wishbone bushes, as rubber components can harden and crack with age even when mileage is low, producing audible knocks or clonks over uneven road surfaces. Steering should be checked for any notchiness or uneven self-centring, which can indicate worn tie rod ends or track rod inner joints. Given this is the electric variant, the 12V auxiliary battery, charging cable condition, and any dashboard warning lights relating to high-voltage system degradation should also be verified. On a test drive, particular attention should be paid to any brake shudder or vibration through the pedal during low-speed application, which would suggest corroded disc surfaces that may not yet have reached advisory threshold but could require attention. Listen carefully for any suspension knocking over speed humps or rough tarmac, as hardened or perished bushes may transmit noise before showing measurable wear. Cold weather or first-start behaviour is also worth noting, since low annual mileage can mask issues such as weakened battery capacity, sluggish traction system warm-up, or reluctant throttle response. Should the vehicle have been fitted with replacement tyres, verify they are of consistent brand, size, and speed rating across all four corners, as mismatched tyres on an electric powertrain can affect range and handling disproportionately. A clean MOT history is a reassuring starting point, but the low-mileage profile means the vehicle's true mechanical condition rests heavily on the outcome of a hands-on pre-purchase inspection.
