2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2.1L Diesel · YJ18 ORF

The vehicle maintains a stable roadworthiness status based on a history of clean MOT results. The most recent test conducted on 31 August 2023 at 228,733 miles passed with no defects or advisories recorded. This suggests the previous owners have maintained the vehicle to a standard that meets minimum legal requirements without mechanical or structural failures being flagged during the last three inspection cycles. The mileage profile indicates heavy usage for an eight-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 28,600 miles per year. Between July 2021 and August 2022, the vehicle covered 22,255 miles, followed by a further 37,676 miles between August 2022 and August 2023. This rapid accumulation of mileage is consistent with commercial light use or long-distance fleet operation, which typically accelerates the wear on drivetrain components and suspension systems compared to lower-mileage examples. Despite the clean MOT records, the high mileage necessitates a rigorous physical inspection of components prone to fatigue under heavy-duty cycles. A buyer should examine the suspension assembly, specifically the coil springs and control arm bushes for signs of premature wear or perished rubber. Given the mileage, the braking system should be checked for thin discs and seized calipers, as the MOT only identifies these once they reach a failure threshold. Structural integrity of the chassis must also be verified for corrosion, particularly around the sills and mounting points, where road salt and debris often accumulate over years of high-frequency use.
