2016 Piaggio Vespa 0.1L Petrol · YS16 EPJ

The vehicle maintains a high standard of roadworthiness, evidenced by a clean pass in the most recent test on July 2026 at 3,097 miles. This result follows several consecutive passes without advisories, indicating a stable maintenance trend across the recorded history. The consistent absence of recurring mechanical failures or structural defects suggests that the scooter has not been subjected to significant operational stress throughout its life. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a ten-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 310 miles per year. Between the October 2020 test at 1,857 miles and the May 2023 test at 2,855 miles, the vehicle covered only 698 miles over nearly three years. This pattern suggests the scooter likely sits stationary for long periods or is used only for very short-distance local trips. While this low mileage limits the wear on the drivetrain, tyres, and brakes, it introduces specific risks associated with stagnation that are not captured by the MOT tester. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on components affected by long-term storage. You must check for flat spots on the tyres and seized brake calipers which can warp or rust when a vehicle remains immobile for months. The fuel system and rubber hoses should be inspected for cracking or degradation due to age rather than use. Additionally, inspect the rubber bushes and suspension components for signs of dry rot, as age-related perishability occurs independently of mechanical wear on low-mileage machines.
