2010 Honda Jazz 1.3L Petrol · YS59 OKW

The 2010 Honda Jazz presents a stable and reassuring roadworthiness profile. The most recent MOT, conducted on 7 April 2025 at 32,418 miles, passed with zero defects recorded. This clean bill of health, following a pattern of consecutive passes, indicates a vehicle that has been consistently maintained to a high mechanical standard. The maintenance trend is stable and improving, with no recurring faults or advisories to suggest underlying neglect. The mileage pattern is notably low for a vehicle of this age. Accumulating just 32,418 miles over approximately 16 years equates to an average of roughly 2,026 miles per year. The record shows a steady, gradual accumulation: 27,341 miles in April 2022, 28,317 miles in March 2023, 29,476 miles in April 2024, and 32,418 miles in April 2025. This suggests light, regular use rather than long periods of standing, which is positive for preventing moisture-related corrosion and component seizure. The data is clean, with no gaps or sudden jumps in mileage that would raise concerns about rolling back or irregular use. Despite the clean MOT history, a buyer should still conduct a thorough in-person inspection. Low-mileage vehicles can suffer from deteriorated rubber components, such as suspension bushes and tyre sidewalls, due to age rather than wear. Inspect the underside for surface corrosion on suspension mounting points, brake lines, and the exhaust system, as short journeys can accelerate moisture build-up. Check the condition of the brake discs and pads; binding calipers can develop from infrequent use. The tyres should be examined for cracking and date codes, as original or aged rubber may need replacement regardless of tread depth. The absence of any flagged defects in the MOT record is a strong indicator of diligent upkeep. However, a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic is advisable to verify the structural integrity of the chassis and subframe, particularly around the rear beam and suspension turrets. Test the operation of all lights, the condition of the windscreen for stone chips, and the function of the parking brake mechanism. This vehicle appears to have been cared for, but a hands-on assessment will confirm whether that care extends to components not always visible in a standard MOT check.
