2003 GAS GAS TXT 0.3L Petrol · YT03 AYM

The 2003 Gas Gas TXT shows no recorded defects in its two MOT tests, both of which were passed. The most recent test on 2021-09-29 at an unspecified mileage indicates a stable maintenance trend, with no urgent issues flagged. However, the absence of subsequent tests since 2021 raises concerns about the vehicle’s current roadworthiness, as the interval exceeds the standard annual requirement. No structural corrosion, brake system faults, or suspension issues were noted in the recorded history, but this does not account for potential deterioration over the five-year gap. The MOT records lack mileage data, making it impossible to assess whether the vehicle’s usage aligns with its age. The 13-month gap between the 2020-08-19 and 2021-09-29 tests suggests irregular maintenance, though no defects were found during that period. Without mileage figures, it is unclear if the bike has been driven infrequently or subjected to heavy use. The clean record implies no major mechanical failures, but the lack of recent checks leaves room for undetected issues, particularly in components like the exhaust system or steering linkage. A buyer should prioritise inspecting the suspension bushes, brake discs, and exhaust emissions, as these are common wear points on older motorcycles. The absence of corrosion reports is positive, but a physical check for rust on the frame or wheel arches is essential. Additionally, verifying the condition of the tyres and ensuring the steering head bearings are free from play would provide clarity on the bike’s handling integrity. The MOT history does not indicate recurring faults, but the extended period without testing necessitates a thorough pre-purchase inspection.
