2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara 1.6L Petrol · YX05 UBF

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on 2026-01-15 at 118,045 miles recorded a pass, but an identical date also shows a failure with no defects listed. This inconsistency suggests a potential administrative error, though the latest valid pass indicates current roadworthiness. No recurring mechanical issues are evident from the record, and the absence of defects in the 2025 and 2023 tests implies a stable maintenance trend over the past three years. The vehicle’s mileage of 118,045 miles at 21 years old equates to approximately 5,621 miles annually, significantly below average for its age. This low usage could reflect infrequent operation or prolonged storage, which may lead to dry joints, corrosion, or degraded rubber components. The MOT tests are spaced irregularly, with gaps of up to 14 months between 2023 and 2025, limiting insight into consistent wear patterns. No rapid mileage spikes are recorded, suggesting the vehicle has not been subjected to heavy-duty use. A buyer should inspect the suspension for hardened bushes or coil springs, common in low-mileage vehicles left stationary. Check brake systems for binding calipers or uneven disc wear, as inactivity can cause corrosion. Structural integrity should be verified, particularly around the chassis and body seams, to rule out rust from potential moisture exposure. The absence of recorded defects does not guarantee fault-free condition, as some issues may manifest only under dynamic testing.
