2013 Audi A1 1.4L Petrol · GL63 WVB

The vehicle most recently passed its MOT on 11 August 2026 with no defects or advisories recorded. Reviewing the history back to 2019, the maintenance trend is exceptionally stable, showing a consistent pattern of clean passes. Such a devoid record of advisories over an eight year period is uncommon for a vehicle of this vintage and suggests a high standard of preventative care or a very light duty cycle. With a recorded mileage of 67,398 miles over thirteen years, the vehicle has averaged approximately 5,184 miles per year. This is significantly lower than the national average for a hatchback of this age. While low mileage generally implies reduced wear on the engine internals, gearbox, and suspension components, it also indicates that the car may have spent extended periods stationary or been used primarily for short urban journeys, which can introduce specific mechanical risks associated with under-use. Given the absence of MOT failures, the physical inspection should focus on age-related degradation rather than operational wear. You must closely examine the tyre sidewalls for signs of perishing or hairline cracking, as rubber compounds degrade over time regardless of remaining tread depth. Check the brake discs for surface corrosion or pitting, and during the test drive, listen for any sticking or binding calipers that can occur when a vehicle is not driven frequently. Ensure the 12V battery is holding a strong charge and that there are no signs of leakage or terminal corrosion. Finally, verify the service history to ensure that oil and filter changes have been performed based on time intervals rather than just mileage. Brake fluid and coolant degrade chemically over time, and a lack of regular replacement can lead to internal corrosion or overheating. Check the service book for stamps that align with the annual MOTs to confirm the vehicle has received comprehensive mechanical attention. During the test drive, pay attention to the smoothness of the clutch and the absence of any suspension clunks, which could indicate dried-out rubber bushes from prolonged standing.
