1995 Vauxhall Astra GLS 16V Auto 1.6L Petrol · OUI 8080

The vehicle passed its most recent MOT on 2025-04-06 at 70,876 miles with no defects recorded, indicating a stable roadworthiness status. Previous tests in 2023 and 2021 showed mixed outcomes, including two failures without recorded defects, but the latest result suggests any prior issues were resolved. The absence of mechanical or safety failures in the most recent inspection aligns with a maintained condition, though the lack of detailed defect reports from earlier tests limits full transparency. The car’s mileage of 70,876 miles over 31 years equates to an average of 2,286 miles annually, significantly lower than typical usage. This suggests infrequent use or prolonged periods of inactivity, which can accelerate wear on components like rubber seals, suspension bushes, and battery health. The MOT records show consistent testing intervals, with no rapid mileage spikes, but the low total mileage may mask hidden issues from long-term storage, such as corrosion or seized moving parts. A buyer should prioritize inspecting the suspension system for worn bushes or coil springs, as low-mileage vehicles often suffer from stiffness or degradation. The brake system, including calipers and discs, should be checked for binding or uneven wear, common in underused cars. Additionally, the exhaust system and structural integrity warrant scrutiny, as corrosion can develop in stagnant conditions. While the MOT history shows no immediate red flags, the lack of defect details in prior failures necessitates a thorough pre-purchase inspection to confirm the vehicle’s mechanical soundness.
