2012 Audi A5 3.0L Diesel · OV12 XJD

The most recent MOT test conducted on the 2012 AUDI A5 on 2026-01-16 resulted in a PASS, indicating that the vehicle met all regulatory standards at that time. However, reviewing the full history reveals a pattern of clean passes over the past two years, with no recorded defects or advisories. This suggests a stable maintenance record and consistent mechanical performance. The vehicle has been serviced regularly, which is a positive indicator for long-term reliability, especially given its age of approximately 14 years. The recorded mileage of 123,521 miles corresponds to roughly 8,823 miles per year, which aligns with the typical usage for a vehicle of this age. While this mileage is within the expected range, it does reflect a moderate level of wear, particularly on suspension components, brake discs, and tyres. The absence of any significant issues in the recent MOTs implies that the wear has been managed effectively, but the cumulative effect of higher mileage over the years should be monitored closely. On a test drive, prospective buyers should pay close attention to the suspension for any clunking noises, the tyres for uneven wear patterns, and the brakes for any shudder or reduced stopping power. For buyers who plan to keep the vehicle in good condition, it is essential to inspect the tyre sidewalls for any signs of perishing or cracking, which can compromise safety and handling. Check the battery health, especially since the vehicle has been standing for extended periods, as this can affect electrical systems and starting performance. Brake discs should be examined for corrosion or binding, particularly if the calipers have been stationary during the test. Additionally, verifying service book stamps and ensuring all fluid levels are adequate will help maintain the car’s operational integrity. Given the clean MOT history, the focus should remain on proactive maintenance rather than immediate concerns, but vigilance is still required to address any emerging issues.
