2019 Audi A4 2.0L Diesel · V40 EAV

A recurring pattern of consumable wear, specifically regarding braking components and tyre tread depth, defines the mechanical profile of this vehicle. While the car passed its most recent MOT on 17 June 2026, the record shows a consistent trend of advisories for thinning brake pads at both the front and rear, alongside repeated warnings for tyres being worn close to the legal limit or worn on the edges. The presence of these advisories in 2025 and again in 2026 suggests that while the vehicle remains roadworthy, the maintenance of wear-and-tear items is a frequent requirement. The recorded mileage of 91,120 miles for a 2019 model indicates a higher-than-average usage profile, averaging approximately 13,017 miles per year. This level of annual accumulation suggests regular, sustained road use rather than short, infrequent trips. Mechanically, this higher mileage increases the likelihood of accelerated wear on suspension bushings, steering components, and drivetrain elements compared to a lower-mileage equivalent. The consistent mileage progression through the annual tests supports a pattern of regular operation. Prospective buyers should pay close attention to the braking system and tyre condition during a physical inspection and test drive. Given the repeated advisories for thinning brake pads, it is essential to check the remaining pad thickness and inspect the brake discs for scoring or uneven wear. During the test drive, listen for any squealing during braking or feel for any pedal judder or pulsation, which could indicate warped discs or sticking calipers. The advisories regarding tyres worn on the edges may also point to underlying issues with wheel alignment or suspension geometry. When evaluating the vehicle on the road, pay close attention to steering response and stability. If the tyres are consistently wearing on the edges, as noted in the 2025 and 2026 tests, you should check for any pulling to one side or a wandering sensation through the steering wheel. Additionally, listen for any knocks or knocks from the suspension when driving over uneven surfaces, as the higher mileage and tyre wear patterns warrant a close inspection of the suspension linkages and bushes to ensure there is no excessive play in the assembly.
