2016 Skoda Fabia 1.2L Petrol · YL66 AHX

This Škoda Fabia has maintained a consistently clean MOT history with no defects or advisories recorded across all five tests, most recently passing on 6 January 2026 at just 25,956 miles. The absence of any recurring issues suggests the vehicle has been subjected to either diligent maintenance or minimal stress, though the lack of advisories does not preclude hidden wear—particularly in areas not routinely inspected under MOT standards, such as suspension bushes, coil springs, or drivetrain components. The most recent test confirms the car remains compliant with current UK roadworthiness standards, though the next MOT is due in just six months, a relatively short interval given the low mileage. The recorded mileage of 25,956 miles over nearly ten years—approximately 2,600 miles annually—indicates either very light usage or prolonged periods of storage. Notably, there is a gap between the December 2021 test (18,130 miles) and the January 2023 test (19,397 miles), covering nearly two years with minimal mileage accumulation. This suggests the vehicle may have been stationary for extended periods, which could accelerate wear in areas prone to moisture damage, such as suspension mounts or underbody corrosion. The consistent annual mileage increments before and after this gap further imply the car was not actively driven during that interval, a pattern that warrants scrutiny of fluid levels, battery health, and potential long-term degradation. Given the lack of MOT advisories, a buyer should prioritise an independent inspection of suspension components, particularly the rear suspension bushes and coil springs, which are common points of failure in this model and often go unnoticed until they fail. The brakes, while not flagged, should be assessed for uneven wear or binding calipers, as the low mileage could mask underlying issues if the vehicle was driven sporadically. Underbody corrosion, especially around the sills, wheel arches, and exhaust system, is another critical area to examine, given the potential for prolonged exposure to moisture during periods of inactivity. Finally, the battery and electrical system should be tested, as prolonged storage can degrade connections and reduce capacity. While the MOT record is reassuring, these elements are not routinely checked and could pose hidden risks.
