2004 Audi A6 3.0L Diesel · AY04 TSX

This 2004 Audi A6 has maintained a clean MOT history with no defects recorded across the last three tests, most recently passing on 17 November 2023 at 135,349 miles. The absence of advisories or failings suggests the vehicle has been kept free of major mechanical or structural issues during the test periods. However, with the most recent MOT now over two years old—passed on 27 July 2026—it is critical that the vehicle undergoes an immediate pre-purchase inspection. The lack of recent testing means no assurance exists that current wear patterns, particularly in high-mileage components, remain within safe limits. The recorded mileage of 135,349 miles over 22 years equates to approximately 6,152 miles annually, a rate that aligns with typical usage for a vehicle of this age. There are no significant gaps in the MOT schedule, as tests were conducted annually without irregular delays. The steady accumulation of mileage implies consistent driving rather than prolonged periods of neglect, though it also means suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake components have endured considerable stress. The drivetrain and auxiliary systems have not been flagged in past tests, but their condition cannot be confirmed beyond the last inspection. Given the vehicle’s age and mileage, a buyer should prioritise a thorough inspection of suspension integrity, particularly the rear bushes and coil springs, which are prone to fatigue at this mileage. The brakes, though not previously failed, should be checked for uneven wear or binding calipers, as the lack of recent testing means no assurance exists that the system remains effective. Structural corrosion, especially around wheel arches and sills, warrants close examination, as does the exhaust system for leaks or excessive rust penetration. The engine bay should be inspected for fluid leaks, as oil or coolant deterioration often goes unnoticed until failure occurs. Given the last MOT was over two years ago, no component can be considered definitively sound without verification.
