2007 Alfa Romeo Spider 2.2L Petrol · GJ07 JXD

The vehicle remains roadworthy, but the maintenance trend shows a consistent pattern of deferred attention regarding basic consumable items. The most recent test in May 2025 at 44,957 miles flagged thin front brake pads and pitted front discs, alongside both rear tyres reaching the legal limit. These issues are recurring, appearing in both 2023 and 2024, indicating that the owner only addresses components when they approach failure thresholds rather than performing preventative maintenance. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a 19-year-old vehicle, averaging only 2,366 miles per year over its lifetime. However, there is a significant gap in records between December 2019 and June 2021, where the car covered only 1,104 miles in over eighteen months. Since the 2021 test, the vehicle has covered just 1,354 miles. This low usage suggests the car sits for long periods, which often leads to the degradation of rubber components, brake seals, and tyre corrosion despite the low mechanical wear. A buyer must personally inspect the front braking system thoroughly, as the recurring reports of pitting and thinning pads suggest the discs are suffering from surface oxidation due to inactivity. The rear tyres have been consistently flagged for uneven wear across four consecutive tests, which points to an underlying alignment issue or worn suspension bushes requiring attention. Given the age and low mileage, a close inspection of the chassis for structural corrosion and perished rubber hoses is essential, as these Alfa Romeo models are prone to hidden rust when not driven regularly to keep moisture out.
