2020 Vauxhall Corsa Elite NAV Premium Trbo A 1.2L Petrol · LL20 XRM

A persistent pattern of brake component wear and a recurring oil leak defines the mechanical history of this vehicle, despite a pass on 9 October 2025. Front brake discs have been flagged as worn, pitted, or scored across three consecutive tests since 2023, indicating a long-term degradation of the braking surfaces. While the oil leak noted in 2023 and 2024 was not listed in the most recent assessment, the repeated nature of the brake advisories suggests a trend of consumables reaching their limit without being replaced. The recorded mileage of 29,514 miles is low for a vehicle of this age, averaging approximately 4,919 miles per year. Such a low annual accumulation rate often correlates with shorter urban journeys or extended periods of inactivity. Mechanically, this usage profile can contribute to the pitting and scoring of brake discs observed in the MOT records, as discs that are not regularly used at higher speeds are more prone to surface corrosion and deposits. During a physical inspection, the braking system requires close scrutiny. The recurring advisories for worn front discs and thin rear pads, recorded at 3mm in the latest test, mean these components are nearing the end of their service life. On a test drive, feel for any pedal judder or vibration under braking, which would confirm the presence of warped or heavily pitted discs. The previous reports of an oil leak should be investigated by checking the engine bay and the underside of the sump for fresh residue or staining, even though it was not flagged in the latest test. The history of tyre defects, including edge wear on the nearside front and punctures, suggests a need to verify current wheel alignment and tyre condition. Check for uneven tread wear across the width of the tyres, as the previous recording of a tyre worn on the edge can indicate alignment issues or suspension geometry problems. Ensure all current tyres are free from cuts or embedded debris, as these were recurring themes in the 2023 and 2024 evaluations.
