2012 Piaggio Vespa 0.3L Petrol · SP12 ECW

This Vespa maintains a remarkably clean roadworthiness record, characterised by a total absence of recorded defects or advisories across multiple testing cycles. This stable trend is evidenced by the most recent pass on 20 June 2024, suggesting a vehicle that has consistently met DVSA standards without requiring corrective remedial work. The recorded mileage of 9,437 miles over a fourteen year period represents a very low annual accumulation rate of approximately 674 miles per year. Such a low usage profile indicates the vehicle has spent significant periods stationary or has been used only for short, infrequent journeys, which typically results in minimal mechanical wear on the drivetrain and engine internals. Given the lack of historical advisories regarding suspension bushes, brake binding, or structural corrosion, the physical inspection should focus on confirming the current condition of the rubber components and consumables. During a test drive, pay close attention to the smoothness of the steering head and the absence of any knocks or rattles from the front fork assembly, as these can develop even in low-mileage examples. Ensure the braking system feels progressive and free from judder, and verify that the engine reaches a consistent operating temperature without hesitation. While the MOT history shows no failures, a manual check for any signs of oil misting around the engine casings or corrosion on the chassis rails is advised to ensure the vehicle's physical condition matches its clean testing record.
