2012 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2L Petrol · SV12 APZ

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on 2026-03-20 resulted in a failure, though no specific defects were recorded. Prior tests from 2022 to 2025 show consistent passing with no reported issues, indicating a stable maintenance trend over the past four years. The lack of defects in earlier tests suggests the failure may relate to a minor or technical oversight, but the absence of recorded faults complicates assessment. Buyers should seek clarification from the testing centre to understand the nature of the failure. The car’s mileage of 39,784 miles at 14 years old equates to approximately 2,842 miles annually, significantly lower than average for its age. This suggests infrequent use or prolonged periods of inactivity, which can lead to dry joints, seized components, or degraded fluids. Gaps between MOTs align with annual intervals, and mileage increases show steady progression without abrupt spikes. The clean record through 2025 implies no urgent mechanical concerns, but low usage may mask wear in systems reliant on regular operation. While no structural or mechanical faults were flagged in MOT records, the low mileage and recent failure warrant closer inspection. Buyers should check for corrosion in body panels, particularly around seams and undercoating, as stagnant vehicles are prone to rust. Suspension components, including bushes and coil springs, may require testing for stiffness or wear due to limited use. Additionally, the braking system and exhaust should be examined for hidden issues, as these are common areas where inactivity can cause deterioration despite passing MOTs.
